I had the privilege of leading the transformation of a small plot of land on campus into the Coop Garden at Majuro Cooperative School in the Marshall Islands. This dynamic project established a sustainable food source for student lunches while serving as an immersive educational site for students of all ages.

By integrating regenerative agriculture and forestry practices tailored to tropical island climates, we created a diversified, ecologically resilient system designed to outlast our time on the island. The project extended beyond food production—becoming a hub for student learning, community workshops, and cultural exchange rooted in environmental stewardship.

After our first year, the Coop Garden was awarded a $20,000 grant from the Pacific Conservation Trust and received the Ambassador’s Garden Prize from the U.S. Embassy. This project reflects my ongoing commitment to sustainability-driven design, long-term community impact, and collaborative, research-based approaches.
